CORPP wants to create within Europe an osteopathic movement for the benefit of scientific research within osteopathic medicine and for the benefit of osteopathic practice, with special emphasis on the mutual relationship between research and practice.

Osteopathic lymphatic pump techniques to enhance immunity and treat pneumonia
International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine
The osteopathic medical profession has designed a set of manipulative techniques called lymphatic pump techniques (LPT), to enhance the flow of lymph through the lymphatic system. Clinically, LPT is used to treat infection and oedema and might be an effective adjuvant therapy in patients with pneumonia. The immune system uses the lymphatic and blood systems to survey to rid the body of pathogens; however, only recently have the effects of LPT on the lymphatic and immune systems been investigated. This short review highlights clinical and basic science research studies that support the use of LPT to enhance the lymphatic and immune systems and treat pneumonia, and discusses the potential mechanisms by which LPT benefits patients with pneumonia. ... Lymphatic pump manipulation mobilizes inflammatory mediators into lymphatic circulation
Experimental Biology and Medicine
Lymph stasis can result in edema and the accumulation of particulate matter, exudates, toxins and bacteria in tissue interstitial fluid, leading to inflammation, impaired immune cell trafficking, tissue hypoxia, tissue fibrosis and a variety of diseases. Previously, we demonstrated that osteopathic lymphatic pump techniques (LPTs) significantly increased thoracic and intestinal duct lymph flow. The purpose of this study was to determine if LPT would mobilize inflammatory mediators into the lymphatic circulation ... ABSTRACT
Low back pain and kidney mobility: local osteopathic fascial manipulation decreases pain perception and improves renal mobility
Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies
The objectives of this study are to calculate and compare a kidney mobility core in asymptomatic and low back pain (LBP) individuals through real-time ultrasound investigation, to assess the effect of osteopathic fascial manipulation (OFM), consisting of Still technique and fascial unwinding, on renal mobility in people with non-specific LBP and to evaluate 'if' and 'to what degree' pain perception may vary in patients with LBP, after OFM is applied. ... "Frozen Shoulder"—A Difficult Clinical Problem
Osteopathic Family Physician
Frozen shoulder is a clinical condition characterized by a relatively sudden onset, variable degrees of pain, restricted range of motion, and normal radiographic imaging techniques. Although the disease occurs in a small segment of the population, its management presents the clinician with an opportunity to use all of his or her skills to alleviate the pain and restore function of the shoulder. This review article discusses contemporary ideas on etiology, diagnosis, and noninvasive treatment including manual medicine techniques, surgical options, and prognosis ... ABSTRACT
Major limb amputation and the relevance of osteopathic manipulative medicine in management
Osteopathic Family Physician
Major limb amputation, traumatically or non traumatically induced, is a major life-changing event, often precipitating chronic pain, dysfunction, and altered self-image. This article explores the relevance of osteopathic manipulative treatment in management of the patient with major limb amputation, using the lower limb as an example and focusing primarily on issues related to gait and psychological independence ... Selected fascial aspects of osteopathic practice
Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies
From an osteopathic perspective, fascial techniques aim to release such tensions, decrease pain and restore function. The proposed mechanism for fascial techniques is based on various studies that have looked at the plastic, viscoelastic and piezoelectric properties of connective tissue. This review explores some of the features described above, together with evidence supporting the therapeutic efficacy of fascial manipulation, offering a selected overview of the fascial component in osteopathic assessment and treatment ... Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is 1 of the most common peripheral nerve entrapment disorders. Osteopathic manipulative medicine can be invaluable in diagnosing and managing CTS. Combined with a patient's history and a standard physical examination, an osteopathic structural examination can facilitate localizing the nerve entrapment, diagnosing CTS, and monitoring the disease process. Osteopathic manipulative treatment is noninvasive and can be used to supplement traditional CTS treatment methods. The authors also review the relevant anatomy involving CTS and the clinical efficacy of osteopathic manipulative medicine in the management of this disorder ... ABSTRACT
